To apply it, you need Sidebar Styler: [link] For other goodies, you may want to visit my deviantART gallery: [link] To install, place the Qs lightwave Aero folder into c:\windows\resources\themes. Same thing for the No User Pic (NUP) folders/files. See here how to patch Windows Vista to enable custom themes: [link] Apply third party themes without software: [link] This was an effort for some time now. I've been wanting to make themes forever! Well, I finally got this done two years late! I plan to update this for Windows 7 in the near future. For Vista 32bit. The theme may work on 64bit systems. The theme should work for Vista basic, but is skinned only for Aero. Also, the taksbar looks best on top or bottom. Let me know if there are any bugs. Enjoy! - Q **UPDATE LOG** - Update Aug 30, 2009: Special thinks to RajTheeban95 for finding the tweak that allows animated shellstyle text. His gallery is here :[link] - Update Aug 2, 2009: Fixed text highlight. - Update Jul 26, 2009: Added black start orb versions. Notified watchers. - Update Jul 9, 2009 (2:04pm): Corrected the flashing taskbar button again! It got misaligned from the correction I made to the taskbar icons. Imagine that. Added new (32bit) Browseui.dll for a cleaner and softer look to the Vista forward/back icons in windows explorer. To install the browseui.dll file, make a BACKUP of the browseui.dll file in c:\windows\system32 folder and replace with this one. You will need to take ownership of the browseui.dll file. which you can do with this procedure: [link] Another link is: [link] There may be similar procedures/files to do this, but this is the one I've used before and it works well in vista. Not responsible if you do this incorectly. Also, all 9,000+ people need to re-download this. - Update Jul 9, 2009 (1:45am): Re-fixed the start orb, which was sitting too high on the taskbar. Yeah, it was "okay", but just not the way I really wanted it. Notified watchers. Thanks for being patient while I keep bugging you guys with updates. - Update Jul 08, 2009: Fixed alignment of system tray icons...now inline with clock. Tweaked taskbar size and toolbar highlights for quick launch or other toolbars. Adjusted the start orb slightly. Start menu is more transparent in the pinned programs area and mouseover text is now black, which stands out better. Notified all watchers for this update. - Update Jul 07, 2009: Fixed start orb. I didn't realize I built the theme with my taskbar toolbars (i.e., quick launch/true launch bar) set to view large icons. When going back to viewing small icons, the start orb was set too high on the taskbar. - Update Jul 06, 2009: Fixed flashing taskbar notification button. Now it's perfect and orange. |
